BIOGRAPHY | FIRST LADY CAROL SCOTT
Carol
Scott, the daughter of Mother Thewantha, and the late
Pastor Carl Early Hines, Jr, was born and raised in Reading, PA. She is
the eldest of two brothers and three sisters; William, Donna, Jacquelyn,
Mark, and Thewantha. As a child she and her family shared many road trips
traveling back and forth to Harrisburg, as her father pastored Shiloh
COGIC. Often times her mother would cook and pack meals for Sunday dinner.
Her family also enjoyed great company and gatherings after services with
members of Shiloh; Jenkins, Garretts, and Mother White. Carol never regretted
those trips, on the contrary, she is grateful for the calling her father
had on his life and the fact that she witnessed how God used him for 41
years to touch many hearts and brought them to Christ.
Carol graduated from Reading High School, and has obtained her Communication of the Arts Associate Degree from Harrisburg Area Community College. As her late father, she believes as Christians, we should always seek education. Through her humble leadership, she has served at Shiloh as the President of the Scholarship Committee as well as President of the Pastor’s – Aide ministry. In 2001, God has given her the vision to create the Shiloh Arts Academy. She sought to create a ministry where the arts would be encouraged for all ages and levels of skills. Musically gifted, she turned to the arts early in life. She stresses the importance of the arts and encourages people of all ages to become aware of their God given artistic abilities, and encourages freedom of expression; making her ministry popular among young and old. The Arts Academy consists of drama, praise dance, mime, music, and computer graphic design. Carol is married to a wonderful man of God, Pastor Scott, three daughters, three of the finest son's-in-laws, seven grand daughters, and 4 grandsons. As a First Lady, a mother, and humble servant, she enjoys being able to encourage and sow optimism into the lives of church members, and her community. She exemplifies the scripture that states: “To whom much is given much is required; and her favorite scripture is “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.” Guided by these scriptures Carol provides inspiration and spiritual encouragement into the lives of many. |
